France is the world’s leading tourist destination and tourism is the country’s number one activity. This is a growth sector creating new jobs. It is a great opportunity of major economic importance for our department. Launched in 1993 by the CCI of Caen and the CCI of the Pays d'Auge, "Calvados Accueil" proved an instant success among tourist industry professionals. All aware of the need to promote the Calvados and the quality reception among tourists by equipping themselves with tools designed by their CCIs. In this spirit our network has been a partner from the outset in Operation "Bonjour" initiated by the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
